Norethisterone

Hi, I've just had to phone up with my November period and been told I'll have to start taking norethisterone on day 21 of this month but I don't prob start injections till after Christmas, am I taking this to early? X

I'm in the same position as you, im due on in a week, start same drug on day 21 but don't have egg collection until January. I'm waiting for my schedule which they won't give me until I come on. Maybe call your clinic and speak with on the nurses.x

Hi Janer85. Norethisterone is given to organise your menstrual cycle before commencing IVF. Usually you start your period a few days after stopping the drug. All this should be explained to you by your clinic, or in any instructions you have been given. Good luck with it all. Diane

I'm taking Norethisterone also twice a day. But I started mine on day 14 till day 25. First day I bleed I need to call my clinic to book a baseline scan to give me go ahead with the injections. Good luck

My first IVF cycle was cancelled due I wasn't responding to treatment. Hopefully this time I make it to egg collection. Keeping everything crossed 😊.

Hi all, I'm phoned the clinic yesterday as it was my 1st day of my period and she said she will send a lot of info out in the post also with an appointment to talk about everything, I know I'm going to be on the short protocol but not sure what injections I'm guna be on etc.. Thankyou for your reply's as they help a lot, I wish you all the best of luck and sending lots of baby dust xx
