My DH was told to take proxceed. Are you sure it's for you?? My dh took it to improve sperm fragmentation x

Yeh, I got told to take it as I have a low amh level,it's making me think otherwise now xx

in reply toJaner85

I would ring your nurse to confirm if you are the one taking it- you can say anything - say there was so much information to take on board and you wanted to be totally sure. Hearing that reassurance will put your mind at ease- don't under value the stress of undergoing fertility can do. Your nurse honestly won't mind at all- that is what they are there for X

I am sure if your consultant prescribed it for you then he/she knows what they are doing and will be acting in your best interests. Ultimately your consultant wants to help you conceive- and just from a business point of view better stastics makes their clinic look better X

Good luck with your treatment hope it brings you your much deserved and wanted baby X

Hey, thankyou for the reply, with anna0908 saying her partner had it has made me think, it came in the post this morning and is prescribed for women with fertility problems but I darent take it. I'm going to ring up on Monday as I need to speak to them Anyways as it has folic acid in as well but when I'm meant to take proceed I'm only meant to take 200 microgram of folic acid but they only 400. I think I am going abit crazy with this process as I just want things to be right.Xx

anna0908 in reply toJaner85

Ahh. Sounds like they do a male and female version! If it's got folic acid it will definitely be for you. I assume it's some kind of multi vitamin for fertility? Will have to go and investigate if they've said it's for you low amh xx

Just had a Google. It looks like a lot of the ingredients are the same as my pregnacare max vitamins, with a few extras which they say help the eggs. Don't know if they've got any evidence to back that up but definitely can't see it would do any harm. X

Definitely worth a double check with the clinic. I've got low amh and haven't read anything about it helping. If it does, I want to know about it!! Lol. Xx

Hi Janer85

I was asked to take proxeed the month before I started treatment along with CoQ10. Unfortunately the cycle wasn't successful.

Husband and I have now been asked to take this for the next 3 months to be honest not sure what it's meant to do just doing as we are told.

Not sure that helps sorry

Xx

No it helps, thankyou. I just feel unsure and abit scared, a lot of people take different things so wanted to know what was what so thankyou, and hope all goes well on your next cycle xx

Hi, I was advised to take the female proxeed by my clinic & they specialise in women with low amh. It seems to agree with me which is all I can say really. ☺

Hi datak, that's really good to know, did you take folic acid aswell?? Xx

I was told to take it, I also have low amh. My consultant said it might help and certainly wouldn't harm. I'm now just over 11 weeks pregnant.

It's supposed to help with egg quality and my eggs were all really good despite my low amh.

Oh that's brilliant cyantist :) congratulations. When you took it did you take folic acid aswell?? Xx

Proxeed do a male and a female supplement.

My husband was told to take proxeed for 3 months before he re did another sperm rest. His sperm are shaped wrong. The consultant at the hosp wanted him to try that before he started us on referral for IVF. He had an improvement of 0 to 1% but not enough to be consider normal.

We are now with a fertility clinic after getting NHS funding but he is still taking it just in case! I haven't started treated yet so always in hope miracles happen!

Anyway in our eyes, I think they wanted him to do that to see if it could be improved before any referral. Proxeed is fine. I didn't take the female version but there is info out there on it.

If you worried though do contact who ever asked you to take it x

Thanks janer85. I did take folic acid throughout as well. Well I took pregnacare conception and then extra vitamin d. An additional good thing about the proxeed is i found I was never drinking enough but making the powder up with about a pint of water really helped increase my fluid intake as well.

Good luck!

How much folic acid was you taking as I've been told only to take 200 when on Proxeed but they only sell in 400.

I wish you all the best xxx

There was 400 in the pregnacare and I wasn't told to take less than that. But I'd do what the consultant says. Can you split the tablets in half?

I'm not sure, I've got to speak to them tomorrow so I'm going to see what they say xx

Hi Janer85

Just wanted to say that I was advised to take proxeed after a failed IVF cycle last year (i have low amh levels), which I took up until and during my second cycle (prob about 4-5months). I'm now 7months pregnant - not sure what role the proxeed played but certainly can't do you any harm! Good luck!!
