Shall I Stop Progesterone.

Hi,

I got positive pregnancy test 11 dpo. I am 16 DPO today and the lines are not getting any darker. I guess it is not progressing. Today's one was actually lighter than these featured in the picture.I took progesterone private prescription so that I could help support early pregnancy. i can't book a GP appointment today as it is too late. As the line is lighter and has not been getting dark. Should i stop taking the progesterone to induce my period?? DianeArnold and others with advice?

Hello! I wouldn't do anything like stopping your meds until the Drs ask you to... You never know, it might work out. It's just a few more days of meds and then you can see a dr to work out what's going on. Good luck!!!

I'd agree with continuing the progesterone until you know for sure. The darkness of the lines is quite subjective and if a test is left sit there for days it will change intensity.

Hi Orangepie. Well done! Most clinics advise that you carry on with progesterone for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy. Obviously, some have different views, but please do not stop using it until you have been told too. Diane

Well, I took another pregnancy test this morning looks like it is now negative. Just another chemical pregnancy. Stopped with the progesterone and waiting for my period so I can start again....with further investigation

Hi Diane, do you know if it is better to lie down after inserting the pessary for IVF? It seems clinics all have different advice about this.

Hi ChristinaS. It's not really necessary, but lots of women do. The drug in the pessary is absorbed in 20 minutes, just leaving the waxy leftover to leak out. Good luck with them. Diane
