3 rounds of ivf??

So just seen on stv news that all scottish couples are now initialled to 3 rounds of ivf !? Is this true and when does this come into place x

"Work will now begin on bringing in the changes, with ministers working with health boards to develop a timetable for the introduction of the new eligibility criteria."

Yes looks like it....

It also recommended increasing the maximum number of IVF cycles that couples can have on the NHS from two to three for new patients.

I think this is amazing news I just can't believe how different areas can have different rules tho. Seems very unfair for one area of GB to get 3 free goes and some other areas still get none. Hope some ladies on here get to take advantage of this much needed support

I dont think ppl already receiving treatment are intitalked ho 😢 Think its only for new patients x

Hi the actual report recommends from April 17 introducing a maximum of 3 cycles for all new patients referred from secondary care from this date.

That's poop I'm due my first cycle Octoberish so assuming I will only get 2 cycles.

I know that sucks ahl be due to start my 2nd when i feel ready but i dont think tgats fair i think if ur still on the list and ongoing treatment u should also be intitalled to the 3 😕😕😕😔

I think the Scottish government is recommending it to health boards but it only says they are in discussion or so i read. They are also wanting to introduce it to couples that already have kids too which will be great news for some!
