Shall I give up

Shall I give up trying for a second round of icsi? I'm 42 in July it looks like around 5% of people can fall after that age. Feel so low today just don't know where to turn

At nearly 42 you're still young enough for treatment so only you can answer that question. You can check out UK clinic success rates on the HFEA website or ask them. What amendments to future treatment to try to get success have your clinic suggested? I assume you haven't got any frosties?

I'm 43 and after 3 rounds of ICSI we decided to stop treatment. We used donor eggs for the 3rd round so that could be an option the clinic might suggest. I was stunned when they suggested that as supposedly my AMH levels etc were good for my age. We were told 40-60% success depending on whether 3 day transfer or getting to blastocyst. They said we could try once more with my eggs. Unfortunately DE didn't result in a BFP but there are ladies on here who've had success with their own or donor eggs. Treatment is less successful with our own eggs as the quality isn't as good as younger eggs. Donors tend to be under 35 and there is a strict screening programme.

Good luck!

Please try and stay positive. I'm 33 but have low AMH ( apparently it's the level of someone between 40-50) and was told not to hold much hope that IVF would work. I'm now 21 weeks pregnant from my first cycle. I realise I'm incredibly lucky but it shows it can happen to any of us. Have faith xxx

congratulations and you are amazingly lucky

Know how you feel, my amh is very low and I didn't respond well to the highest drugs and only got two eggs. We have our follow up in April but think we will be looking at doner eggs, I have been reading alot about it and I have kind of got my head round it now. Don't give up xxx

We are off to get a donor and a prayer it will work, 4 failed fresh cycles no Frosties on any of them and am 41, despite my age my last collect they got 12-14 eggs guessing all was rubbish quality as it was again a BFN.

So we are days away hopefully from transfer... Just waiting on the update but we are off to Greece.

Don't give up until it really Over. This is our last attempt and then we'll I guess if it fails then there must be another plan for us.

Stay positive keep positive be good to yourself 😘

Thank you good luck to you X

I would say to try donor eggs as well, it's a much higher chance - I've heard 65% likely to fall pregnant. I'm going to be 44 soon and that is my last option really.

Also, I heard that the baby can take on some of the DNA this way, I found that made me feel better.

Good luck with it all x
