Hi everyone,

I'm new on here, and starting my first cycle of IVF this month. I'm feeling quite nervous about it all, so it would be great to connect and share this journey with some other ladies starting this month...any buddies out there?!

Thanks!

Hi - buddy idea sounds great. I started a couple of weeks ago so at stim stage, with EC and 2ww in March. I'm on my second cycle and still nervous too, especially after seeing all my follicles growing yesterday, makes it more real! Even with this being the second time round the pressure is far greater for some reason. I wish you all the best and if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them, along with the other amazing women in this forum.xxx

Hi guys I too am on my first round of IVF - I started buserilin on Monday. I got myself totally freaked out about the injections and the possible side effects of the drugs but so far I haven't even noticed any difference and the injections don't hurt at all - woo! Is the egg stimulation what causes most side effects - what have you guys found? Whatever happens, I am just keeping focused on the end goal - fingers crossed it works for all of us xxx

Hi ladies,

After 3 years of trying, waiting and testing, 2016 is the year!! we had a IUI cycle that wasnt succesful in January.

We are having our first ivf cycle now. Cetrotyde cycle. I will start down reg medications end of March, so I guess all the action will start in April for me, but would love to join the group :D

Feeling so excited everything finslly is moving. Best of luck to all

We doing IUI first, find out on Monday if it's going ahead on Thursday. I know it's not as involved as IVF / ICSI but it's still nerve racking to know we could finally be somewhere with this..... Good luck to everyone!

Hello! This is a great idea. I'm in the same boat as you with our first cycle. I have low amh and have been told the odds are poor. Waiting to start injections at next period (around 20th March) so April will be the month it all kicks off. Would be great to keep in touch and support each other.

Best of luck to you all, stay positive :) xxx

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for all your responses! :-)

I'm from the UK, but live in Australia, and unfortunately there aren't any decent support groups/forums over here, so it's really great to be able to connect with others going through the same experience, around the same time.

I'm 36 years old, have been TTC for 18 months, was diagnosed with endometriosis in December last year, during a laparoscopy, and had all of it surgically removed, thankfully. The gynaecologist confirmed that it was definitely the reason why we weren't able to conceive, and advised us to try to conceive naturally for 6 months. However, our fertility specialist told us to start IVF after 3 months post op, so this is our first round.

I'm due to start on Progynova tablets tomorrow (7th March) and then Puregon injections will start on around the 13th March. My egg collection date is predicted to be around the 25th March...timely for Easter!

I'm feeling quite nervous about starting the meds, especially the injections, just hope I can administer them ok, and the side effects are minimal.

It would be great to receive regular updates from all of you on here, and to be able to support each other. Wishing you all the very best of luck, chat soon! :-)

Just wanted to say guys that I thought I was being really clever and did a couple of injections in my back fat because it doesn't pinch as much but they told me off at the clinic - apparently it's belly or top of thigh only - something to do with the type of fat there 😳 Now you all know too!! Xx

Hey Vinc-2015, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your first round of IVF. Yes I'd love to join you as a cycle buddy, I'm going in for an endometrial scratch this Wednesday and the due to start my injections on day 1 of my period which I think will be 18th March with EC on 1st April. I wish you all the best for your treatment and hope you get the BFP you dream of 😘 Xx

Hi guys. I am so weepy at the moment - gah! Has anyone else had this on buserelin? Xx

I'm on supracur and an emotional exhausted wreck it, poor hubby getting the brunt of it unfortunately . But praying there's light at the end of the tunnel xx

Hi everyone

I'm so glad I stumbled across this knowing there are others out there going through this too.

I'm in the process of my first ivf long protocol , normally a level headed health professional myself the supracur has turned me loopy!!! But I've just had first scan of folicles and I've got 10 in total

Now stressing over the numbers

Jealous pangs have also started to kick in which deep down are ridiculous but I just can't help it

Any ways there are plenty of happy stories out there so I guess it's just a game of chance in someone else's hands for now

But wish everyone all the best luck :) xx

Thanks guys I thought I was going completely mental. The first 9 days were fine but today I cried for about an hour straight and had no idea what even set it off. Worse still, I was in a yoga class at the time - just had to make an excuse and leave! My teacher does know I'm having IVF so I'm hoping she didn't think it was a reflection on her teaching - ha! It's a bit of a roller coaster isn't it? Xx

Hi, now on Day 16 of Buserelin injections - some side effects...headaches, tiredness, facial flushing, mild night sweats but fortunately (and surprisingly! no mood swings). Doing the injections is not as bad as I expected but not really enjoying pumping myself full of drugs! Scan on 29th March and due to start Menopur the following day.

Hi guys. Just checking in to see how you're all getting on? We're day 3 of Gonal F - EC is 5th April all being well.

It really hasn't been that bad so far. I had 2/3 days of being weepy and hot at the beginning but touch wood that has gone now. And the concept of injections is much scarier than the reality (although hubby is doing them all for me - ha!).

How are all of you doing? Fingers crossed for a favourable outcome for us all! Xx

Hi, hope everyone is doing OK.  After 24 days of Buserelin and no additional bleeding (I had A/F when I was starting the injections) had my baseline scan yesterday and all was good so started Menopur this morning.  These injections are a bit more fiddly than Buserelin but managed OK.  Felt a bit hot and jittery afterwards but that was a couple of hours ago and feeling OK now.

Bit late to the party but we are in midst of it all too. A bit behind some of you perhaps- our EC would be around 13 April. Starting menopur stims tomorrow :) How is everyone else getting on? x

Hi! My EC was yesterday and surprised that I didn't feel a thing. Got a drop and next thing I remember I was waking up in the recovery area. Still can't believe I slept through it all and didn't feel sore at any time. ET planned for Sunday. :-)

Right so embryo transfer happened today so the dreaded 2ww starts! I'm feeling pretty positive about it all - just have to crack on with normal life for the next fortnight and hope that our little embryo wants to stick around! Any advice about how you maintained your sanity in this period?! Xx
