IVF buddies starting long protocol?

Hi everyone,

Just started injecting Supercur this morning; first cycle of IVF. Any of you lovely ladies has started/starting long protocol soon? 🙂

Hi Sherry, I am on my second round of IVF, started my cycle last wednesday, so I am a little ahead of you. How are you feeling? I am really trying not to get caught up thinking about it the whole time, it really helps to keep your mind occupied but tonight I am home alone watching Strictly and its all I can think about!

Hiya, thank you honey 🙂 I feel both excited and scared. I have a heart breaking experience of having a blighted ovum and my mind just keeps going back there whenever I try not to think about this journey! It will hopefully end happily for both of us xx

Started long protocol Thursday! How did you find the injection this morning? X

Hi 🙂 The injection wasn't too bad but the area went all purple after 3-4 hours! How are you with the injections? xx

They haven't been too bad actually. It stung a little this morning but I haven't even felt the others. The first one had a small purple bruise but the others have been ok. I've been waking up during the night really hot and clammy but that could just be a coincidence. When is your egg collection date booked for all going well? Xx

You know what ... they have not booked me for any further procedure! Shall I ask them for dates? I have not had any symptom since started down regging, not even sure if the med is working. I guess hot flash at night is a good sign because the meds are supposed to take to to the menopause stage xx

Well this is my first time so I'm not sure how different clinics work. I have been given a whole plan which gives drug dates, scan dates, egg collection and possible embryo transfer dates. Obviously they are subject to change depending on how well I progress with the meds and how well the embryos grow. The nurse did say it's likely they won't vary much. Xx

It's my first cycle too 🙂 I believe clinics behave differently as you mentioned, but they all follow same protocols. When will be you collection and transfers, if you don't mind me asking? It can give me an idea of the time I need to have off work xx

All going well my EC is 25th Oct then ET is either 27th or 30th depending on how well the embryos do. I have a scan booked next week then start gonal f. I also have 2 progress scans whilst on the gonal f. AF still hasn't come though,not sure if this delays things. I think some ladies have had a delay on the Buserelin. I'm usually every 26 days so going to give it another day and do a test. I've had a few twinges and sore boobs so no idea what's going on! I'll be shocked if it's a bfp. Think my body is just playing one last trick on me! Are your work quite supportive? Xx

Thanks so much; very kind. Let me know about the test result honey. You never know, anything can happen when you are living a TTC life 🌈😇. I'm happy with my work place; they are flexible and supportive. Hopefully it stays like that until the end of the process 🙏xx

I started Buserelin on Friday evening. It's our first cycle and I'm a tiny bit terrified. How long do you reckon before the side effects kick in.
