Hi I'm new to this just a quick question. How many of you have fallen on your 1st round of IVF? Our local CCG has changed and are now only giving 1 go on the NHS in our region. I'm completely devastated and so afraid that I'll never get to be a mum or provide my husband to be with a child.
1 round: Hi I'm new to this just a... - Fertility Network UK
1 round
My daughter is now 30 weeks pregnant, from her 1st IVF ICSI , stay positive and good luck x
this is so unfair! Our hospital only offers one round funded also there is a petition about this sign and share if you like i completely understand where your coming from its so unfair that just because we have different post codes we are not allowed two cycles everyone should be entitled to the same amount of funding! xxx
petition is on my page as a link i am currently on my 2ww from my first round and am praying it works as we only had one embryo to transfer so no more goes for us if we fail xxxx
I am currently 5 weeks pregnant after my first round of IVF!!!! After 4 years off trying I did have a fibroid removed and 6 months of hormone tablets so it is possible. Positive thinking and I wish u all the best of luck!
Many congratulations.
I had an ectopic pregnancy and it ruptured severely and unfortunately they couldn't save my tube...3 months later I had another ectopic and found out that I have adhesions on my remaining tube...consultant told me IVF would be the only way...I've tried to stay positive as we knew we would get at least 2 tries on the NHS now this new ruling has passed. I'm currently going through the anger/frustration phase I think.
I'm so stressed trying to plan a wedding now this on top of it...sorry for the rant xxx
Hi, it's so unfair. Under which CCG do you fall under?
North East Lincolnshire, they passed this ruling in August 2015 without even making it public knowledge x
That's rubbish! In our area ech 'round' of IVF is a fresh cycle plus (if you don't fall pregnant) the transfer of any frozen embryos you may have. It's worth checking (if you're not sure) as Initially I didn't appreciate this was the case.
I did however fall pregnant on my first round of IVF and I am now 35 weeks pregnant. I never thought it would happen for me and it did.
My best tips are:
1. Prepare yourself mentally for treatment. This whole thing is stressful (really stressful) so the calmer and more relaxed your feel the more you will be able to cope with treatment.
2. Go for counselling. This is a really hard journey and speaking to someone who is properly trained and can help you process your feelings is really helpful. I found it made a bit difference and I do believe it influenced the outcome.
2. Find things that help you relax and take your mind off infertility/treatment. I found Tai Chi was great but yoga or Pilates (or whatever works for you) are also good. Some people like baking, long walks or adult colouring books.
3. Acupuncture (if you can afford it!).
4. During treatment I stopped alcohol, cut out tea and coffee. I ate pineapple, lots of protein, Brazil nuts and chocolate! I have no idea if it helped burnt made me feel like I was taking some control back in a situation you have no control over!
I hope this helps and wish you all the best for treatment x
That's really sound advice, Hopeful! Sums up pretty much what I did and I'm 20 weeks pregnant from my first cycle. The only things on your list I didn't bother with were acupuncture and giving up tea - I chose to cut down rather than give up completely but I did cut out coffee. I needed at least one little treat to get me through!
Delighted to hear you're at 35 weeks now, you're getting close to the end point!! Hope the remaining weeks go well for you.
