Hi, I had it during IVF. I also had it twice on ET day, before and afterwards. Those and the one during the 2ww are the most important in my eyes. I only had one blasto to transfer but I'm currently 15 weeks pregnant. I definitely think acupuncture played a part as I was told I was unlikely to respond well to IVF due to my low AMH. Good luck with everything X
Hello I only had acupuncture before and after embryo transfer because I was told my eggs were very low quality, I am now 11 weeks pregnant. I also believed it helped as it did relax me and not stress as much as I then believed I did everything I could possibly do to make it work. hope this helps. good luck !xx
I have been having it once a month for last 8 months I am about to start treatment and will have more then especially round collection and transfer. I love it and find it so relaxing, the woman specialises in infertility issue so I find her really good to talk to and gives advice about diet, vitamins etc x
I've been having acupuncture most weeks, I really enjoy it. They say its good for stimulating the ovaries & it gets blood flow/energy to your uterus. The crucial times are before and after transfer. I found it helped after egg collection too. I'm on my 2ww and its def helping me to relax and stay calm. Like somebody else said they give you advice on diet too. Good luck xx
I've booked Accupuncture for sat 13th my egg collection is March 14th so will definitely try to get a couple in before then and the day after egg collection too.
Is this your first attempt at ivf ? How r u finding the 2ww? Ive booked the full 2 weeks off work for when mine comes . What r you doing to keep busy. Good luck with it all . Xx
This is my first attempt, I've taken the whole 2ww off & I'm finding it the hardest part of the treatment. I keep feeling like AF is coming in fact test day is Monday & I'm convinced it is on its way 😟 I made sure I rested a little bit the first couple of days after transfer then I've just been out for short walks, met up with friends and family & sorted things out in the house that I've been meaning to do. I'm due back at work tues hoping we get a BFP Monday otherwise i don't know what I'm going to do!
Hiya, I had acupuncture during down regs with a lady who specialises in infertility and was affiliated with zita west. she suggested once I started on stims to have a session and then one the day before egg collection then also the night before ET and then on the actual day of ET then 10 days after that to help implantation.. We paid roughly about £40 a session.
Both my partner and I felt it was worth a try as the research suggested it was beneficial. And we both feel it had a hand in giving us our BFP especially as we were only given a 20% chance..
I've been having acupuncture every week for approx 3 months already. Will be having it the day before ET and day of ET if poss and then after too. She's great and gives dietary advice too. It's not cheap (I pay £35 per 1 hour session which includes consultation and dietary chats) but I feel it's worth it if it can help our chances! X
It's expensive, isn't it!! I was told that the most important times to have acupuncture were the day before and the day of embryo transfer as your body can still be quite bruised from EC (and the general prodding around) and these sessions help settle everything back down. So, I would prioritise those two and anything else you can to help you feel prepared. Your acupuncturist should be able to advise you as well. Good luck
I'm having my first session tomorrow, excited to find out what its like as I've heard lots of good things. Anything to make us more relaxed during this journey is a good idea i think. Let me know how you find it xx
