4 years ago me and my hb paid for iui treatment which was successful first time round, I really want another child but in this time have been diagnosed with endometriosis so finding it hard to conceive naturally. I wanted to know if anybody thought if we would be funded for iui from the nhs as we funded ourselves the first time.

Hi Hannah, different areas of the country have different eligibility criteria so it might depend on where you live but as far as I'm aware in most if not all areas having a child already makes you ineligible for funding. It can't hurt to ask your GP though. Good luck with it all!
Check the fertility fairness website but I agree with Lynnr54 that having a child usually means the NHS won't fund treatment. You should however, still be treated for your endometriosis and anything that's causing you an issue conceiving.
hi thank you for replying hun I thought this was the case I went to my gp on Monday and she said that we would be entitled to nhs iui treatment and I need to go for some blood tests and take it from there but everyone who I have spoken with said that the gp has told me wrong so now I feel so upset and let down I don't go and see her now till the 21st of January and is playing on my mind constantly so came on here to see what everyone else thought before I go back to the drs.
The HFEA website has information about clinics including those that offer nhs treatment. It might also be possible for you to contact your local Clinical Commissioning Group directly and ask them for their eligibility criteria. Please don't be too hard on your gp, she probably doesn't know much about infertility criteria. Best wishes x
