What do you mean by older? 50+ or younger? Mine is 43 with sperm problems and ICSI was successful for us. I believe the woman's age plays more of a role in success than a man's. Good luck!

My husband is 53, I am 43. Two failed vasectomy reversals and one completely disatrous IVF/ICSI. Just undergone another three rounds (with freezing). Fifteen embryos in storage at present, but any problems will be due to my age. If you are having ICSI, there will be no problem, and you are young. I have no doubt that you will be successful. Go to the HFEA website, click on any clinic and look at the figures for your age-group with ICSI. You have an excellent chance of success. I wish I was your age. :)

Hi Hepzibah

Thank you for your kind words, we are not even sure yet if he has any sperm we are hoping so - we will see what they say at our appointment on the 21st Jan! I think we will be going for the ICSI and hopefully it will be successful, after 11 years together we really never thought that it would be a possibility so to think that it could be...... its a bit surreal really!

I wish you lots of luck with your next treatment :)

Hi. My husband is 53 and I'm 39. We had ICSI because of sperm morphology and motility issues. On the second try it worked so now I'm nervously awaiting my first scan. As my husband says "they only need to find one good one!" :)
