Anyone had privately funded Ivf with a bmi over 30?

Heard some clinics say it's a no go and some aren't worried.

Would like to hear from you guys who are privately funded xx

Hiya, I went to a private clinic with a bmi of 35 and they didn't even question it. I wanted to lose weight anyway and my bmi is now 31. Definitely look into private clinics x

Hi I'm currently in process of having self funded ivf/icsi and my bmi is 34, my clinic told me my bmi had to be below 35 so had to lose some weight to hit criteria.

We're going for our follow up appt at clinic on Monday, our nhs try was successful but sadly our baby was born too early 😢. I put on so much weight with her I'm panicking they'll make me loose it all before we try again. I know they still may suggest that, but knowing some still do give you the option has really reduced my stress levels no end today so thank you so very very much xxx

My bmi is as of this morning is 33. Gutted, I lost a ton of weight (no joke!) to have our nhs shot, but the pregnancy with my little girl was very scary, near over stym so really tender and was on near complete exercise ban when we got our bfp, after then I was petrified to do anything.......bang went my lovely 5'10 and below 29 bmi I was proud of.

Been trying my hardest to shift some weight with calorie counting and daily workouts, but only 8wks out of the birth and only just last two days have scales moved even a tiny bit. I can only put it down to stress and hormones being all over the show. Still gutted though, I've been so regimented!!!

Anyway, thank you all so so much, good luck to you all xx

I have a BMI of 39 and have various medical conditions and were turned down by loads of clinics. Finally Bath Fertility Clinic have said that they will treat us!!

Thank you for your reply Poshlady84. I'm trying to remain calm waiting for answers Monday. How's your treatment going or when are you starting?

After loosing our little girl I'm just petrified of everything and probably overthinking every possibility, in an ideal world I'd have liked to be a far better weight before treatment, but then in an ideal world I'd be holding my baby my Xmas thinking of her future and considering a brother or sister for her in a yr or so. I've got this really strong feeling we shouldn't wait. I can't explain it, but loosing my girl made me realise I need to listen to my gut, everytime!!!!! Of course this could all be grief, stress and hormone induced madness, but I can't ignore this feeling. I just pray my consultant listens to my gut too lol. I'm really trying to practice what I need to say without becoming an emotional wreck too, they'll want to go through my daughter's postmortem results obviously in order to decide on a plan going forward, and listening to that again is.........well it's going to be a tough call to not fall apart 😣, but of course I've got to try to keep it together for our best shot at them saying yes!

Good luck to you all xx
