IVF Criteria

Hello.

Please could someone tell me why if I was in a same sex relationship I would qualify for IVF after 10 cycles but as I am heterosexual I have to be actively trying for 2 years? That seems like discrimination to me......

Thanks

I think it means 10 cycles of IUI attempts, so different to trying naturally.

Yes as Katerina said, that will be 10 cycles of IUI before they can be referred for fertility investigations/treatment (and I would assume they have to pay for those cycles of IUI?) . For a heterosexual couple you clearly have a head start on the old making a baby front. If there's something not working then it shouldn't matter if you're gay or straight we're all entitled to the same care and support x

Because it could happen naturally for you... If you are an older couple you only need to try for a year. Good luck with your journey!
