Questions after miscarriage

Hi ladies.

Just looking for some guidance on the questions that we should ask during our follow up appointment?

Our first round of ICSI ended up with a missed miscarriage at gone 10 weeks.

Hello. So sorry to hear about your missed miscarriage. I know how it feels. I would ask about baby aspirin. Helps to stop blood clots. So helps after a misscarraige. Unfortunately not much else can be said or advice they can offer. Just try again. But when you feel ready. Hope this helps a little. Xx

Sadly no one really knows why we miscarry. I kept analysing every little thing to try and work it out. There is talk on here about people having high levels of NK cells (natural killer cells) which can reject and fight off the embryo. But I don't know lots about it, my understanding is its not a usual test done at our clinics, and it is maybe something that is only looked at after several miscarriages, which seems wrong to me. You'd think it should be an automatic test wouldn't you, particularly when we have to pay thousands of pounds for treatment.

My sister in law had 2 miscarriages, and they tested her blood for some blood issue - which maybe what piglet was talking about - it came back positive, I just can't remember now what it was called! But maybe ask about it.

I had heard about the NK cells and wondered with endo whether I would be affected, but I thought it was more connected to the implantation stage as opposed to later down the line?

You are right though. All any one of us want to know is why this happens and we'd do anything to try to resolve or change it....
