Anyone at age about 39 years old who are successful with their blastocyst transfer? I would love to hear how many you transferred and how many took...

We had 2 embryos transferred, I'm 41 so we could have had 3 implanted but the 3rd embryo wasn't good enough to make it worth transferring. Unfortunately it didn't work for us on our first round of ICSI.

I wish you every success.

Hi - I am 42. I only had one transferred, just to personal choices - but they do advise 2 if you are a bit older and using your own eggs. I used a donor egg, as I'm unable to use my own. I had a 5 day blastocyst - it did work and I got a positive, but sadly I did miscarry at 6 weeks. But this could have been due to my bad endometriosis/adenomyosis. I think my odds for 1 egg transfer using a donor were about 45%.

I have heard that if you have 2 back in, one may possibly act as a decoy so if your body does reject the embryo the other one can still carry on and implant/embed - but I don't know if there is any medical reasoning behind this.

Good luck on your journey

Hi

I am 40 just this year and had 2 5 day blastocyst transfer however it was all going well then I started to bleed and it didn't work.

Go for 2 if you can give urself that every chance. I possibly think in the other hand if I had 1 and it didn't work I would have had another chance. My 3rd egg didn't do what it should of.

Overall it has to be your decision.

Good luck I wish you all the luck

Xx

HI we had the choice of 2 to be transferred. personally I opted for one as the chance of miscarriage is already high - 1 on 6 and if both take then the risk is doubled. For me that risk out weighted it

Hi I'm 38 and I had egg collection yesterday. I was told I would only be allowed 1 5 day blastocyst to be put back but if I was 40 or over I would be allowed 3. Good luck. xxx
