It depends on your personal situation and possibly the clinic. I had 2 transferred to increase chances because of past medical history with recurrent miscarriage, my age and maybe also because I only had 2 blastocysts at the end of it. They tend to encourage only one to be transferred to try and avoid too many twin pregnancies.
I'm in Dubai and had 2 transferred as FET is not allowed over here. I now have 16 week old twin girls who are a lot of work but I wouldn't change a thing. Good luck for your transfer xxxx
It depends factors like your age. I had 2 transferred each time as I'm over 40. Your consultant will advise you on how many they suggest you have transferred.
Hi Lucyloo81 - there is no one answer to your question! Typical of everything to do with infertility! In the UK, the recommended is to transfer one embryo, see One at a time oneatatime.org.uk/ to reduce the risk to mother and babies of multiple births. Transferring one embryo rather than two has been shown to not affect the outcome. Other countries, like Spain and Greece, will transfer 2. When it comes down to it, your consultant will weigh up everything in your situation and do what they consider the best - they also want you to have a baby
I hope this helps.

Hi Lucy I had 2 transferred (my choice) through a private Clinic in London.
My twin girls are now nearly 7 months. As the others have said there's no definitive answer it depends on the clinic, your thoughts etc. Good luck! Xx
Hi Lucy
My clinic recommends one but in their guidance they will consider two maximum. Due to my age (38, 39 in a few months) and we dont have any children we are thinking of having two put back if we are lucky enough to get to that stage and have that many - Im just waiting to get started so trying not to get ahead of myself.
Good luck!x
Despite being (relatively) young and small I ended up with 2 embryos transferred but the decision was put upon us as I was minutes away from being wheeled in for my transfer.
I took 6 months to choose paint for my living room so having to make such a big decision so quickly was quite scary! The embryologist wasn't able to guide us really, so it really was up to us.
It's certainly worth having a proper discussion with your oh before you enter the process so you know where you both stand.
