Feeling sore

i am now into my 5th week of injections and since day one i have injected into the left side of my tummy (as i am right handed). I am starting to bruise and that area is becoming really sore but dont feel i can inject into my leg as there is not as much fat there than there is on my tummy. Can anybody offer any advice please? xx

Hi poor you having to injection for 5 week. I can feel it and I am on the short protocol so its only been just over a week! So with your injections you need to rotate the sites, you can inject either side of your belly button using your right hand still or go a hand width apart of either side up or down so plenty of sites to use. try not to use the same site as it will become very painful as you know and im not sure but it may affect the absorption of the drug - it does with other injectables. You don't need to have much fat on your leg to do it there, just make sure that you really pinch the skin (grab about an inch) and pinch it really tight so you have a hard bit to inject. I've got thighs like a bird and I was fine!

The drugs do themselves (obviously) alter your hormone balance, which makes you a little more sensitive to pain so unfortunately as time goes by you do feel it a bit more.

Try the leg though, more space to move your injection points around!

Hi Jill, when I did my injections the nurse recommended to do alternate sides each time, even though I did this I was still a little bruised and dreaded the next injection ! All I can suggest is putting Ice on the spot for a while to numb the area and try not to inject in the same spot. Good luck and hope I've helped a little bit xx
