Dear Bluer, I understand your concern. I am a bit younger than you. All I can say is that when I started out I had no hope, but there are so many stories of people getting pregnant over 40 these days, I decided I would give it my best shot. In the process of wanting to have a baby, I have been able to get fitter and healthier and generally connect better with my husband. So I feel that this journey is the right one for me. I'm not pregnant yet after over a year of focusing on this. I don't think doubt really helps... There are no 'perfect' routes, after all the statistics are not very hopeful :) but I think with courage, good health, good doctors and -- a little bit of luck, who knows what can happen?

Hi Saraif,

Thank you for your reply. You are much younger than me so no doubt on it. I'm now hopeless as my chance is only 1%. Just pray for a miracle baby. Congrats for your baby dear, x

I know its hard not to look at statistics but try to stay positive and open minded about it all. Are you starting ivf now x

Hi SaraIf,

I am just awaiting for my 1st day of my cycle. I already had my initial consultation with the doctor, scan and blood tests done. Still confused if I'll proceed or not as I don't want to waste my £££ again. Sigh!

I understand with the cost I was lucky enough to be given 3rounds of ivf on the nhs with Bourn clinic in Cambridge but before our treatment started my husband and I discussed that we would try the 3 and would not go any further after this lucky for us it was second time lucky. Ours was unexplained infertility x
