Husband has a low sperm count, first IUI failed doctor has told us to go straight to IVF. Im worried about the side affects if any. Are the injections just the same as IUI or are they more painful to give yourself. Do you get put to sleep when eggs are collected?

Do many people have side affects with IVF.
Also is there a waiting list with IVF or can it be quite quick?
My husband has problems with his sperm too (even though I don't think he'll accept it lol).we were advised to try icsi instead of ivf as they can pick the best sperm and put them straight into your egg.i found the injections and pessaries not too bad just have to be organised.i am now 5wks pregnant so fingers crossed that it works for you. My advice would be try and take things easy and do exactly what the clinic tells you . good luck and I'll sprinkle baby dust over you xxx
We had to have ICSI too as Husbands spermatozoa was low mortality, the injections were fine, but everyone is different... I was excited as it was one step further to our dream... I am now 6w +3 weeks pregnant and I can honestly say IVF wasn't as bad as I thought.. EC you don't know anything about it as you are sedated, (a little tender afterwards and a few days rest) ET is amazing... 2ww time stops!!! Pessaries are a bit of a bad but you get used to them... Hope this helps x
