I had major surgery 1 year ago to remove endo and try to repair my tubes which were closed (but clear of hydrosalpinx). After this I was told to try naturally for 6 months, which we did.
We then went back and had our IVF in Feb/March, which resulted in a BFN but 6 frozen blastos
Just been back to see the consultant, thinking we would be scheduling a frozen transfer, only to be told that he emptied what he believes to have been a hydrosalpinx during my egg collection. This means I now have to go back for more tests/HSG etc, and if it is the case, need to have more surgery to completely remove the tubes.
Every time I think we are getting somewhere we get knocked right back again.

But it's steps forward to IVF working? You dont want to go through that again and it fails as there is something wrong.. Read Danielle's, she has had to go through all this and just waiting for her other tube to be removed as that is probably the cause of her negative IVF x
Hi Maccerpops. So sorry, this must be so frustrating. I'm not sure of the medical side, but I don't understand why they didnt tell you of this after EC? Sending lots of love and positive vibes. As Mrs Marsh says, these are steps towards IVF being successful for you xxx
No I don't understand either. I am most annoyed because before my IVF I asked the nurse if I would need to have an HSG to check my tubes are still open, and she said no, they wouldn't close up again in six months. The consultant now tells us that they can close up at any time. But that said, if they had known before perhaps my IVF would've been delayed for surgery, and we wouldn't have our frosties now.. it terms of my age it made sense to get them made and frozen ASAP.
Hi maccerpops about your tubes, if you have hydrosalpinx, the chances of IVF working is cut in half so I would get them dealt with as soon as you can. I asked the clinic to check my remaining tube for this and she said there was no evidence and then I had a failed cycle, then I wrote to the clinic asking them to have another look as I just new a hydrosalpinx could not resolve on its own so I went back and a different person had a look and she said she saw a little bit of it by transvaginal ultrasound scan and I am now going to get this managed. Hydrosalpinx never goes away once you get or have one unfortunately that's why they remove tubes now. x
Hi maccerpops, I think you are right - best to have gotten your EC done and your embies nice and frozen - I feel the same, as have just turned 36, so the sooner the better! Whatever happens now, by having your fresh cycle you have maximised your chances as much as possible by getting so many frostie blasts so try to stay positive, I know that is easier said than done so sending lots of love xxxxx
