Just had last scan before egg collection on Monday, was told about possibility of collecting and freezing?

Due to how well we've responded to the drugs there's a possibility of them collecting my eggs and freezing them straight away because of hyper stimulation. Is this a general thing they say to everyone, has anyone else been told this?

Hi leigh1985 I had a great response to the drugs but they did not say anything about freezing my eggs, I was a high risk of hyper stimulation and they just give me the choice to go ahead and I said yes, I did go ahead and I got 22 eggs and had 30 to 35 follicles and I did not suffer hyper stimulation. I think it should be up to you wheather you go ahead or not. x

Hi hun its good news you have responded well to the stims.. its sounds like you will get quite a few eggs.. i suppose they are just letting you know what could happen.. the good thing is before and after you have ec they will tell you what they are going to do and how many eggs they have retrieved.. i may be having my embryo transfer on mon.. thats if i have some to put back x

My transfer was cancelled due to OHSS and trust me its not worth having a transfer when you have been advised not to. OHSS Is the worst thing ever I was stuck in bed and felt so bloated and the constant pressure in my belly. They say if you go ahead with the transfer and it works you can continue to have OHSS for up to 12 weeks plus theres a chance it might not work because your hormones are up the spout. With an FET your bodies more settled so likely.to receive embryo better. Good luck x

Thanks for your comments guys I guess what will be will be, we've waited year's so if necessary another few months won't hurt but we're staying positive everything else has gone our way so far so we'll see, good luck to you all xxx
