Hi Po Cop

With any round of treatment, there is unfortunately no guarantee of success. You need to focus on the positives that you have and break it down into stages. So first up hope that as many of these follicles produce mature eggs. You'll be told the no. of eggs when you wake up from the collection. The next stage is to get as many of those fertilised as possible and beginning to divide and grow - they'll tell you this the next morning most likely, and anything above 50% is a fairly good no. If you have a low no. of eggs collected, you may find they move you to ICSI btw. The next milestone is to get to egg transfer day. Ideally, you will have at least 2 eggs that are still going strong. Because of the low no. it is likely that you will be on a Day 3 transfer, not a Day 5 blastocyst transfer. You only need one of these embryos to stick to be successful.

But for that to happen, your omb needs to be a healthy environment, so with any round, once you get to egg trasnfre it is still no guarantee of pregnancy, for a number of reasons, so at that time, you need to take it easy, and do what you can to make the nicest environment you can.

Good luck xx

Hi flower girl. Thank you so much for your response. I understand much better, unfortunately, I'm doing the IUI not invetro. However, if this doesn't work that's what's next. So thank you greatly.

Hi po-cop, I'm not sure how many follicles we had....ended up with 16 eggs but by day 5 there were only 2 left. I done our pregnancy test on weds and it was positive :-) just wanted to say that it only takes 1 embryo to have a chance of success :-) Wishing you loads of luck xxx

Hi Emmy and congratulations. Thank you for your encouragement and sharing your experiences. I'm doing the IUI not IVF. However, if this doesn't work then that's next. Thanks so much again. Greatly appreciate.

Pineapple juice is supposed to make the lining of your womb stickier giving you a better chance of your embryos taking. it cant hurt to try it. Good luck xxx

Dearest ally cat. Thank you so much for your words of wisdom. I will definitely run out and overdose on pineapple juice. (Lol)

I got nothing to loose.

Greatly appreciate.

hi, sorry didn't ralise that you were doing iui. Hpoefully you are able to take the principles and apply them to your situation, so potential of 5 eggs n one release is really good number - with IUI, I doubt that they would want to stim much more because of trying to manage success v too many embryos which has a major risk to your and the babaies health. Good luck xx

I can't give you any stats but, cheesy as it sounds, you only need one good egg!! I know of ladies who've cycled at the same time as me who only had one to two eggs in their cycles and ended up pg - so it can definetely happen. But we also have to remember their IVF is never in our favour, we just have to hope and be positive - good luck
