First thing you need to do is speak to your GP. If you have been trying for more than one year without success, they will do initial tests and then refer you to the NHS fertility clinic. They will also run secondary tests and IF you are considered suitable, they will put you onto the IVF waiting list.
It's not just the case that anyone can just 'sign up' I'm afraid.
There is a whole load of criteria you have to meet to get funding - your gp will be able to advise. Some CCGs will fund more than one cycle (mines funds 2)
Hi Erica. If you have a look at our website WWW.infertilitynetworkuk.com and go to the “NHS Funding” pages, you will be able to see what your own CCG will fund. It is on the left hand side of the page “CCG Funding Criteria”. If you scroll down to the bottom of the NHS Funding page, you can access template letters for you to fill in to apply for funding and also an appeal letter if needed. Good luck. Diane
