Hi I am on my first cycle of IVF/ICSI and the clinic told me they ring you 5 weeks after finishing a cycle but I don't know if every clinic is different.

Hi

Many thanks for responding, my clinic haven't given me any info, so have decided to move clinics.

I wish you all the best. xx

Hi

I've had the pleasure of 4 cycles (umm?!) and in each case, I was told that a 3 month break was ideal, just to let the body recover from the drug regime - and for you to recover emotionally too as its a tough roller coaster isn't it?!!

Some clinics I think will consider just one period in between cycles but I think it depends on the situation, what happened last time, how far you got, the regime you were on etc

Good luck for next time xxx

ps if you don't mind what was your situation?

I am 40, and basically separated and when I decided to get married the main reason was to have a family, but have now decided to go it alone, although I have great family support. But I have a low amh, and on day 6 scan was told to abandon the cycle as I only had one follicle the correct size, but I decided I would follow through, and they collected 4 eggs, all 4 fertilised, 2 off 8 cell embryos were transferred on day 3, the other 2 were slow growers so they were abandoned. If you have any advice it would really help. xx

Hi,

Each clinic is different. Some have a minimum of 3 bleeds between cycles for your body to recover, others is due to the waiting list for treatment.

Hopefully you don't have too long to wait and good luck for your next cycle. x

Hopefully you find a clinic that you feel comfortable with and wish you all the best for any future treatment.

Our situation - im 28 with numerous issues, hubby is OK. Our first cycle was cancelled due to over stimulation then no response. Just restarted yesterday so everything is crossed we get further than day 8 this time.

Glad to hear you do have support from your family.

Unfortunately I don't have any advice that would help, but anytime you wish to chat, then feel free to message me. Sometimes having someone to speak to can be a great help.

Good luck xxx

Hi Many thanks for coming back to me. I wish you all the best. I'm sure it will be third time lucky. It always helps to talk to people that are going through similar circumstances, as I feel you can relate to them. Please let me know how you get on. I have just booked an appointment at the Lister hospital, for tomorrow, so hopefully I can get straight into another cycle.

Good luck and lots of baby dust.xx

This will be our second try but it is still classed as first NHS cycle. I have heard really good things about the Lister on some other websites. They seem to have very friendly and helpful staff with good results. Good luck and hopefully you don't have too long to wait to try again. x

Hi apologies, I read that you had a cycle with over stimulation and one with no response. Again I'm sure this will be the one. How did you get on with injecting yourself?

Me I had to get one of my friends to inject me as we are a family who can't stand the site of needle let alone think about injecting someone or myself. My mum was quite prepared to hire a doc to come round. She's very funny. :-) xx

No problem, when i re-read i fully understood how i was picked up wrong.

I didnt inject myself, i had hubby do it. Helped him to feel more involved with the process. Got to admit though, he did have to chase me round the house for the first injection. Terrified didnt come close. He was advised by the nurses to practice on an orange. I felt sorry for the poor orange he mauled! In the end i just lay down and waited....... After the injection was done i was fairly shocked i had gotten into a right state over nothing! A cat scratch is more painful.

Hubby doesnt bat an eyelid at needles and was even saying he would happily do anyone elses as well!

You are right, it is so much easier to relate and understand what someone else is going through.

Wishing you all the best for your appointment tomorrow and feel free to drop me a message to say how you got on. Good luck! xxx

Hey I had my apt today with dr jaya pirakh, she was very good, but she told me I had to gain at least 5kg... I told her she's having a laugh, I could eat all day and not gain that amount. ( my bmi is only 16). But I will restart the treatment on my next cycle but she has chosen a long protocol, so will see how it goes, but she was quite positive:-) x

When do u have your first scan?

I have my baseline in a couple of weeks. Good luck with your next cycle and hopefully you are able to put on some weight. x

Hi

We just had our first apt at wkend there for blood tests etc & are due next one next wk when we will be given details of treatment programme. Can you tell me where you put the injections?

Hi Tigger, we were advised to put them into my stomach anywhere below my belly button all the way across almost hip to hip. Avoid being too close to previous injection site or any bruising. Our nurse recommended switching sides left one day 1 right on day 2 working towards the middle. They use a very small needle for the injections. Hope it all goes well for you.

Hi I had them in my stomach, mine are quite painful, but that's due to having no fat. I even had tears a couple of times... Not very fair on my friend who had to inject me. But he soon got over it..
