I fear I have forgotten myself today and been lifting objects and indeed my friends toddler. Really worried as I now have some cramping although this has been on and off since embryo transfer. Can anybody share their experiences? Have a sabotaged my chances or am I being neurotic??

Hiya prayingforamiracle. I have been very strict with myself on this round and taken time off from work, hubby and my mum been doing the house work, all I have done is dishes and walking. Sometimes I get it in my head the treatment hasn't worked. Some people can have this done and carry in with their everyday lives as normal and it works, unfortunatly others of us are not so lucky. I wouldn't worry to much, try rest a bit and I hope it is all ok for you. Good luck. :-)

Hi. Women often get cramp like pains after IVF treatment – not surprising after all the poking about. If your friend’s toddler needs picking up, then sit down and make him/her climb up on you or sit by you. I always say “don’t do anything below your knees”! Sit down to pick things up and no moving heavy objects. Rest as much as you can too, if possible. All the best for a positive outcome. Regards Diane

I agree that it's pretty normal to feel cramps after IVF. I felt them right through the 2ww and beyond. I remember feeling many times that I had messed up, (by lifting the wrong things, eating the wrong things, getting too stressed etc). I totally convinced myself i was going to get a negative result, and could hardly believe it when it was positive. So yes, it's probably best to be careful with the lifting from now on, but maybe try not to beat yourself up about what's already happened. IVF is a v unpredictable process, and it's tough enough, without giving yourself too much of a hard time! Good luck.

That's good to know - I'm not just imagining it !! I felt really guilty yesterday but I'm not going to beat myself up as I am trying to just put these two weeks in as best I can. Never wanted time to go by so quickly !!! X
