11 weeks - how not to feel anxious!

hello. I’ll try to make this short. My DH and I have been trying for years, 3 IVF, 2 failed and 1 MC. We turned to surrogate to help us build our family. 1st attempt with a PGTA normal girl - MC at 6 weeks. 2nd attempt with PHTA normal male worked. We are 11 weeks today. We saw the 1st heartbeat at 7 weeks 4 days, measured at 160. 2nd ultrasound at 8 eeeks 6 days was at 176. We don’t go back until 12 weeks 6 days! I’m so anxious. My surrogate said she hasn’t had much of an appetite but feels good otherwise. Some nausea here and there. When she eats she gets full very quickly. I’m just so scared of another MC. What are the odds after seeing these two heart rates? Any others experiences?

Hi there!

My baby’s heart rates were 116 BPM at week 6 and then 172 BPM at week 9, 1 day and I do remember being surprised how high they got but that the IVF doctor was happy with those numbers. Here’s a reliable website that says that it’s normal for the heart rate to speed up between 8 and 12 weeks and then it will slow down.
