Mosquito bites - rife in UK! 37+1

Is anyone else pregnant and keep getting bitten to shreds in the UK by mozzy’s?! I’m definitely not normally this susceptible to them but they seem to be rife in England at the moment! I’ve had 6 bites happen since Sunday and they are soooo itchy! I’ve been putting toothpaste on them as apparently the mint menthol stops them itching but they are driving me mad. Anyone else keep getting bitten when pregnant and any solutions? X

I don’t live in the UK but am plagued by them every year and am allergic 🤦🏻‍♀️ - an old but good remedy is to heat the back of a teaspoon up in the steam of a kettle and carefully press it onto the bite.

The heat destroys the protein in the bite (which the bugs inject to make us bleed) and once cooked it no longer itches (or doesn’t itch as badly as before anyway).

I’ve tried this many times and it really does work. Just be careful not to burn yourself.

Also sudocrem on bites afterwards is a lifesaver.

I got bitten so badly at the weekend, but that's pretty standard for me as I always seem to be a target! You can take loratadine anti histimines when pregnant I think which I find reduces the itching.
