pregnant and new job

Hello Everyone,

after two early miscarriages and two years of fertility struggles we was so happy to find out we’re pregnant. I’ll be 9 weeks this Saturday, however I just started my new job yesterday. I have severe morning sickness and terrible headaches as I’m also having to take progesterone pessaries and clexane injections during this pregnancy due to having sticky blood. I have to go into the office and I’m just feeling so uncomfortable where no one knows and I feel so unwell. Do you think I should say something now or wait until my 12 weeks and just go in each day which is big struggle x

Maybe you could speak in confidence to the HR Dept about your concerns .The symptoms you have will pass - try ginger biscuits and eat small little and often

Take care

Apparently nausea is caused by magnesium deficiency can't hurt to take some and see if that helps.

It's a hard choice to disclose but bear in mind you might feel significantly better in just 3 weeks. Could you hold out?

It really sucks this whole not telling people especially when at the beginning you likely need support.

Hi,

I’ve also started a new job and found out we’re pregnant. I’ve been lucky that my morning sickness hasn’t been too bad but I have found wearing travel sickness bands helps when heading into the office.

My boobs, well come to think of it all of me has just ballooned and I can’t stop eating as that stops the nausea 😂 so god knows what they think of the new greedy guts that’s joined the team!

I am holding out though until I’ve had my 12 weeks scan next week and all the tests (we’ve opted for NIPT) are ok before telling a soul.

Best of luck!

Congratulations on the pregnancy and the job 😊It's so tough those early stages when no one knows but you feel 🤢 and you want to impress new colleagues and boss. If able to just keep going then do and if there's someone you think you can trust to be a helpful ally over the next few weeks then maybe share with that person. The suggestion about HR is a good one too.

If it gets too much and you need to work from home or take time off then do as your health and little one is the most important at the moment. Work will still be there and you can make up for it when the second trimester hopefully eases some of those rubbish symptoms!

Wishing you all the best xx
