Has anyone else got this cough?

I have had a really severe cough for about 10 days now and it is not going away...

Starting to get really worried this in impacting the baby, I am 32 weeks.

I went to the doctor last week and they said lemon and honey...

Is anyone else suffering with this?

This isn't covid...I am testing regularly...

I am not sure what to do if this won't go...

Ah thanks - I have my 32 week scan on Wednesday and the usual pre-scan anxiety is starting to build. Especially with this sickness.

Praying it goes soon!

Thanks for your reassurance xxx

Oh my god YES! Me, my daughter and my other half have all been hacking up our lungs since New Year's.

Pretty sure we've just managed to catch all of the nasty bugs going around one after the other- nursery germs and weakened immune systems are not helping. Lots of water to flush out the mucus seems to ease it but the water intake plus coughing is *really* testing my bladder 🥴

Anyway, am 38+6 today and baby is doing fine despite the cough.

Best of luck with your scan and hope you feel better soon! xx

Yes!!! Def a test of pelvic floor the intense coughing....

Ah you are so close now! Best of luck with the rest of your pregnancy.

Reassurance to know that you are this far having the cough and all ok.

I have a til Wednesday to see my little one on the scan - will be a massive relief if all ok.

Thanks Diane. Your advice was much appreciated.

I have a new prescription for an inhaler (safe for pregnancy) and will try to do steam inhalation too as per your advice.

Thanks for your support xxx

Yes I had the horrible cough had it for about 2 weeks. It hurt my stomach when I cough and I some of the coughing fits made me sick. No harm to baby just made me feel rotten. Midwife said all I could take was paracetamol and gavson and not to touch any over the conter cold and flu stuff. What helped me was epsion salt baths, lots of honey, ginger and lemon tea also putting my head over lemon in hot water stem helped clear my nose. Hope you feel better soon x

Oh I hadn't thought about epsom salt bath - I will try that too. Diane also suggested steam which is a good idea.

Thanks - the muscle/rib pain is the hardest. Hope you have recovered fully now.
