Chickenpox exposure...

Hey not sure this has happened to anyone?

They think my daughter has the start of chickenpox....

I am 28 weeks - I did have chicken pox when I was younger....

Not sure if anyone knows how bad this is for me to be exposed to?

X

If you’ve had it as a child you will be immune so totally fine if you are exposed. If you’re worried you can let your GP know and they can do a blood test to confirm your immunity.

You should be fine. I contacted my doctor a few weeks ago as there was a chick pox outbreak at my school and was told if I’d had it as a child I’d have immunity. I requested a blood check to double check as wanted to be 100% certain and came back as immune, so you could always ask for this to happen if you’re worried.

Get in touch with your GP they will do a blood test to check immunity and if it comes back that your are not immune they can give you an injection that will protect you and baby if it's given within 10 days of exposure.

I looked this up when I was pregnant, and it’s really rare to get it a second time so they just advise that you’ll be fine if you’ve already had it.
