Hi, I was told by midwife coughing won't harm the baby but you might pull a few tummy muscles it's bad. During pregnancy the immune system is weakened, so you may feel like you've been hit harder or that a bug lasts longer than usual. I am almost 28 weeks, so far I've had covid, food poisoning, a virus that that gave me an itchy rash which lasted 2 weeks all over and currently a cold that will just not shift itself generally feel rubbish most of the time. But baby is fine super wriggly and at evey appointment I am being told litte one is developing prefectly. So don't panic your little one is safe and sound its just you that feels rubbish, try hot honey and lemon water and keep drinking plenty of fluids and rest. If at all speak to your GP. They can make sure it isn't anything serious or turning into a chest infection or pneumonia. Hope you feel better soon xx

i also have a nasty cold… so far what has helped is lemon ginger honey tea (constantly!), hot showers, steaming my head over a bowl of hot water and a saline rinse. Yesterday i had a cup of tea (haven’t been having caffeine), and the caffeine helped me get through xmas day xx

hey! I had colds almost continuously over the last month of my pregnancy. It’s cos our immune systems are weaker cos all of our energy is going towards growing a baby! I’m not sure if this is true, but I thought about it as a good thing, because antibodies that I grew while I was ill were going to the baby, so hopefully he still has those antibodies now!
