Sorry to hear you are experiencing this. I haven’t had issue’s myself with pelvic pain or back pain but I am a physio and pelvic girdle pain is something that might start around your current gestation. Exercises can definitely help so a good women’s health physio is highly recommended. Perhaps even going private depending what the NHS physio can offer? (I know around my area NHS physio is quite limited due to all the staff and money issue’s). And if exercises and advice is not helping maybe getting good advice for pelvic girdle support bands can be helpful if it really developed into pelvic girdle pain compared with general ‘back aches’ that are common in pregnancy. The former tends to be worse and good support will be helpful throughout the rest of your pregnancy!
I hope things will ease and the symptoms settle! Good luck hun!
Hi there, sorry you are suffering from this pain, it's awful... Like you I start suffering from around the same time and saw a physio but a bit late like at 28 weeks, I thought the pain would go away actually because I didn't know !!! How wrong I was ! And I tried the exercise, have the belt but at the end it didn't help very much, mine was also quite bad pain... I just did with it and forced a bit, I can't wait now to deliver to be relieved from it ! I hope yours will get better. Xx
Hi there,I'm sorry to hear that your suffering from pelvic pain with this pregnancy. Like yourself I have a 3 year old and I had no pelvic pain whatsoever with my last pregnancy but it started around 22 weeks (I am now 36 weeks) with this one. I had a physio appointment and got some exercises etc but I have found that ensuring I am in the best sleeping position has helped ease it a bit. I use a pillow between my knees and ankles to help hip alignment and I use a small cushion to support my bump. It does making changing position during the night a little trickier but it definitely made a difference for me. I won't lie and say the pain goes away or doesn't get worse but being mindful of what aggravates it and trying to reduce that helps.
I am a nurse and struggled to do my two long shifts a week especially as I really suffered the next day after working so I have had to finish up 33 weeks due to my pelvic pain but I have really tried to listen to my body this pregnancy and not overdo it.
I have found that the position of the baby makes a big difference as well and assuming that is due to the amount of pressure he is putting on my pelvis. So although it started at 22 weeks I have had some weeks that were better than other and I put that down to the way the baby was lying.
I hope that your pain remains manageable for the rest of your pregnancy 🤞 xx
