Just wanted to share some good news...

We had our combined test post 12 week scan and after being told I was very high risk - all our tests came back low risk!

Not out of the woods yet of course and very early days, but a sigh of relief to have this news esp post 40 years.

Just wanted to share this with the group in case any other post 40's need it! X

thank you for sharing this - I’m sure you feel relieved. I’m 11 weeks at the moment and 43 and in a total panic about the 12 week scan and the tests. Having a little meltdown . Thank you for sharing though much appreciated x x

Yes I was the same - but the tests and scan reassured me. No sure bet as still just a low risk - but I feel like I can get to 20 week scan.

Best of luck for your scan. Fingers crossed xxx

That’s great news!! ♥️

brilliant news! I really hope they start logging these stats for us 40+ year olds because I really think the age thing is over hyped. Yes risk increases… but mainly because less women over 40 give birth so stats get skewed and all women are different. This means that me at 41 could be lower risk than another woman at 33. I have birth this year and was expecting pre eclampsia, high blood pressure. Whilst I was diagnosed at week 39 with GDM (something I’m not sure I even had) other baby mums in my group in their early thirties got induced early due to high blood pressure. It just proves that age is just a number for many. Sooooo sooooo sooooo please for you xxx

Such a true message - I think part of the anxiety is all the negative messaging they send out...

(This includes that you cannot concieve post 40 too!)

that’s wonderful news, I am also 40 plus and it is interesting the basic screening test and the additional higher risk you get just because of age!!!
