Advice on dying hair in 1st trimester

Hi everyone!

I was just wondering if it’s safe to have your hair coloured in 1st trimester? I’ll be almost 10 weeks when I’m booked in but wondering if I should cancel and wait until after the first 12 weeks?

Thanks!

So I have the same dilema - the NHS and most guidance says post 1st trimester.

I have natural henna hair dye which I am tempted to use.

Last time I didn't colour my hair at all.

I know it seems trivial, but my hair is awful and going to work I feel terrible....

I did not color my hair but had my regular treatment around 9 weeks with my salon. I told them I was pregnant and not to use anything that is not advised for pregnant women.

I personally didn’t dye my hair until I was 25 weeks, it just made me feel so nervous, I waited so long so that I don’t need to get it done again until after baby arrives. My hair dresser did say it was fine to get it done and just that the colour could be altered due to hormones. I would just do what your comfortable with. I new i would overthink it and be anxious which is why I waited x

Hey. Lots of people here may disagree, but I dyed my hair in the first trimester. I can’t face the world with my greys, and from doing research online, they said that hair dye is not highly toxic.

I did get it done by a professional, in a salon, rather than doing it myself (like I usually would) just to reduce the risk, and as a little treat! I’ve done it again since myself at home, since I’ve been in my 2nd trimester.
