I always take Vit E as part of my Recurrent Miscarriage Protocol and to thicken the lining. Now that I’m pregnant I don’t know if I should continue or not.
My IVF said doctor said not necessary, but I’m scared of losing this pregnancy.
Is anyone taking Vit E in first trimester? I was taking 400iu
Thank you

Hi. I was also taking that dose but stopped vitamin E when I found out I was pregnant. Vitamin E is only in very small doses in pregnancy multi-vitamins.
If it helps, I take a normal strength B vitamin complex, methylfolate, zinc and omega 3. I didn't get on well with pregnancy multi-vitamin for some reason.
I took it in very early pregnancy as I was also worried about stopping it because of its blood flow-enhancing ability. I tapered it off over the first couple of weeks. I read the Cochrane guidance about vitamin E in pregnancy and there isn't really any clear evidence to show high doses are harmful except when combined with high doses of vitamin C (and even then evidence was sketchy) but I would not continue with it at a high dose without medical support. xx
Hi Liediana. Well done on 7/40 wks of your pregnancy. Vitamin E is good for your blood during pregnancy, but so are nuts and seeds instead of a tablet. Diane
