Finally after waiting since May, I have my dates for tube removal, its been a long old wait especially after the surgery failed last October (which I had to wait three months to find out) my next surgery is 23rd December, a bit close to Christmas but better late than never, I just want these things out of me so we can finally get going on the ivf, feel like I'm running out of time after turning 38 in July and the cut off is age 40, after getting over the horror that they have to be removed and its the only way forward, I'm now relieved that its all happening!

Hi Bernie. I have lost both my tubes too, it’s kinda good that you don’t have that expectation each month of ‘what if’ but I also found it devastating as the possibility of having children naturally is taken from you. So make sure you take some time to process this before you focus on the next step x

Hi Nat thanks for the reply, I feel ready for it but might feel differently once its happening, what stage are you at? Have you started IVF yet or are you just getting over the surgery of the removal?

I had my second tube removed Jan 2019. Since then lots of waiting! Had lots of tests done to check I met the criteria for IVF (rubella immune, enough follicles, AMH, no HIV, correct BMI). Currently applying for funding (hospital do this on your behalf) which I’ve been told will be done in three weeks, then a 3.5 month waiting list at the hospital I’m at. The waiting is the absolute worst! Sounds like you know already thought waiting for this surgery! Are tubes your only issue?

Yes my tubes are my only issue, all other tests have come back fine, I get two free rounds on the NHS, are they not offering this to you? Sounds like you're having a really tough time with it all x

I get one round in the NHS but where I am you need to meet the criteria and then the funding is applied for. Doctors have said there will be no issues with the funding it’s just a box ticking exercise they do. that’s good you don’t have any other issues

Ah great, do you know when you can start? I have been told I can start 8 weeks after the surgery so hopefully will be beginning if March
