2nd round FET

Hi there, should hopefully be having a 2nd go at FET soon, after 1st round failed. I have been going for a long walk most days, and eating super healthy, making sure I get lots of fruit & veg in. Was a blow that the 1st attempt failed, as top grade 5 day blastocyst used & lining was perfect. So just wondering if anyone has any advice to try & get a successful 2nd attempt? Hospital not really given much advice, just that we can go again for another try

Hi sorry to hear your 1st round failed, mine did too and just like you we had a top grade 5 day blastocyst. It’s been really difficult but we are approaching our 2nd try (starting 1st week July). I’m with you and ask if anyone has any advice to try & get a successful outcome this time. Wish you all the best if you try again. Sounds like you’re doing everything you can and I’ve done the same 🤞

Hi Belle2019, so sorry to hear you are in the same boat as me. That's good you are about to go again though. I really understand your frustration, when things have looked in your favour, then they fail & no reason given. I find that so hard to get my head around. I am still waiting on a period to be able to start my 2nd round. If you dont mind me asking, how long after your first attempt did you have a period? I have had the withdrawal bleed but not a full period. I hope everything goes well for you this time round x

Hi Leli212 apologies for the delay getting back to you I had to take a break from everything for a while. Have you had your true period now? I checked and it was 17th June so exactly 4 weeks after BFN. We were due to start round 2 today but have decided to post pone 1 month as I am going to have a procedure called endometrial scratch not sure if you have heard of it, but some say it helps implantation but it isn’t proven 100%. Have you started round 2 yet? Our situations sound similar. I wish you all the best x x

Hi again, oh no worries. Thanks for the reply. I have heard of the scratch thing. Going to ask about it at my next appointment. I took it upon myself to get my thyroid checked. Just as I had read some things online about it possibly affecting things if it was out of sync. Get results Tuesday. Not had a true period yet, hopefully soon then I can start the 2nd go. When do you get the scratch? I hope everything goes well for you. Would love if you could keep me posted. Thanks so much x

Good idea getting thyroid checked and hope the results are ok. I had thyroid re tested a little while ago as well and results were normal. I have to wait until day 1 of my next period then the clinic will confirm treatment plan and when the scratch will be. of course I will keep in touch and the same to you xx

Hi belle I’m sorry that your first cycle didn’t work . Look like we gonna start in similar time . I just got my period 2day and need to phone the clinic on Monday. They recommended natural one and I ask to put two back in . What was your first cycle like and what gonna be your frozen cycle now hun ?xx

Hi Olivia1980 thank you. Do you mean you are waiting for your first ivf cycle? Or ur 2nd? My first cycle was ok it wasn’t easy obviously, the injections were buserelin, gonal f, and trigger, then progesterone gel in my 2week wait. I haven’t started the frozen cycle yet but it’s buserelin, progynova, cyclogest and progesterone gel and got aspirin this time. Not sure if that’s what you wanted to know sorry if too much info? Hi hun I went through 3 fresh cycles. My first one didn’t work and nothing to freeze.

My second cycle different meds gonal f 300 , synarel spray , trigger and vagina progesterone. One embryo grade A transferred and one A to freeze. My baby girl is now 25 months old.

This feb my 3rd fresh cycle. Same meds synarel, gonal f 375 trigger and progesterone vagina. From that I have another 3 frostie.High recommended to transfer only one due to top quality A+ but didn’t work.

I need my body to recover and loose some weight what I put during the last cycle.

Never had frozen cycle so don’t know what type of med or no meds at all r best.

Last month my doctor recommended to go through natural frozen cycle so I got my period 2day and I think I need to phone them on Monday and then on day 10 from day 2 day I will have my first scan. I ask to have 2 put back in . Just wonder if is unmedicated will I still need vagina progesterone?xx

i'm sorry to hear that your 1st round hasn't worked. I'm in a similar position to you we had blastocyst on our first attempt. I have had two failed attempts the first time they think my progesterone level dropped, so on my second attempt I was given my progesterone (haven't had my review yet). Since getting my second negative I have bought a really good book call it starts with the egg. lots of information in there that might help. You could always as them to check to see if you have thyroid antibodies and maybe ask for progesterone ingestion instead of the pessaries.

Thanks for your info. I am going for a Thyroid panel test on Friday, so fingers crossed everything ok there. I will definitely mention the progesterone to them aswell x

Hi leli I understand your feeling when everything is good and u have top grade embryo put back in and doesn’t work.

That what I had with my last cycle in feb (fresh one) .

We have a 4 frostie so we gonna go through frozen cycle.

Never have a frozen one and last month my doctor advice to do natural one.

So I got my period 2day and need to phone them on Monday.

How many frozen embryos u have and what was your first frozen cycle hun?xx

I hope it all goes well. I have 5 left, all 5 day blastocysts. My first frozen cycle was in May. Test day was start of June which failed. Waiting on my next period to start 2nd cycle. Hoping it's not far away but just concentrating on being super healthy till then x

So your first cycle was natural one ? And this one now natural too ?

Feel strange going through without and drugs ... I’m really nervous us I being through 3 fresh cycles will all meds and just this one ...so different.xx
