Good morning! I start my treatment of my first IVF on 31 October. I have to take 8days of Progynova, have a scan on 7 of November. Than injection. I am so scared, o never been on hormones and as well I am a drama queen! When I asked the nurse about lifestyle she said to avoid caffeine, alcohol and smoking. Well myself I am not drinking and smoking so will not be a big issue but I love my chocolate, which will be a problem. 😂!

Do you know what drugs you will take ? Did they gave you more details ? I would like as well to know more about ! I am scared about the procedure and outcome as well ! I am 41 the day when my treatment start , I know the age is a number but when comes to fertility looks like is not !

All the best for you ! Hope you will be successful ! Please keep me updated!

I’m starting to cut down on caffeine from mid November which may be a problem as we have just had a puppy 😂🙈and stopping alcohol around the same time. I’m starting on Buserelin (Suprecur) then have a scan about 2/3 weeks then onto Menopour, about 9 days later then a HCG injection then Cyclogest pessaries. They didn’t give us much information around it just hormones are going to be all over the place while on them 😩

Let me know how you get on with yours and hope it’s good news 🤞🏻 xx

Hiya I have just started my first round of IVF (nhs funded). I took Norethisterone for 10 days then had my baseline scan which went fine so I was able to start my injections that night. I am on day 4 of injecting meriofert now, which I will take for 10 days altogether every evening. On October 22nd I start my morning injection of cetrotide. Both injections will finish this Friday on October 25th. If the medication has worked when I go to my scan that same day, then I will be booked in next week for my egg collection then transfer dates. If they both go fine, then I am looking at the two week wait after those before I do a pregnancy test at the hospital so it could be around nov 16th I could find out if IVF worked. I thought I would share my story with you so you have a rough idea of how long things take and what to expect. Good luck xx

Healthy eating, being physically active and getting enough sleep are vital. Found this time ago# Think raspberries and blueberries. Packed with antioxidants, these members of the berry family protect your body from cell damage and cell aging - and this includes cells in your reproductive system. The oyster - famous for being Nature’s answer to Viagra - is the food chain’s most concentrated source of zinc, a nutrient that’s crucial for conception. Zinc deficiency can disrupt the menstrual cycle and slow the production of good-quality eggs - neither of which is good for fertility. When you can, consume carbs of the complex kind (whole grains, beans, vegetables, and fruits) as opposed to the refined varieties (white bread, white rice, refined cereal, sugary treats of all types). Complex carbs take longer to digest and don’t cause spikes in insulin levels - they may also promote regular ovulation. Salmon (choose wild if you can), sardines, herring, and other types of fatty fish are swimming in fertility-boosting benefits, thanks to the high levels of omega-3 fatty acids they boast. Loading up your diet with those fabulous fats allows for increased blood flow to reproductive organs and may help to regulate reproductive hormones. Adding dairy to your preconception diet is good not only for bone health but also — potentially - for your reproductive health. So drink that milk, spoon up that yogurt, sip that smoothie, nibble on that cheese. Praying for your soon success!
