Did my low hormone levels lead to my miscarriage?

Hi, does anyone know if its safe to take oestrogen and progesterone supplements the entire pregnancy if natural levels are basically non existent? I was told to wean off them at 10 weeks during my first pregnancy which I think may have led to my miscarriage. I finished them at 12 weeks and a week later the baby stopped growing. I know stopping the meds is the norm but my case isn't common. Specialist said he sees someone with my really low hormone levels maybe once or twice a year x
