I would really like some advice as I have a family member with this disease and it’s gone on to progress to liver cancer.

I’ve had it NAFLD for about 5 years I’m struggling to lose weight which I know I need to .

I’m so scared I’ve had a fibroscan and they said that there’s a small amount of fibrosis and nothing to worry about but I don’t believe them.

NASH is the disease process from NAFLD so it is something to pay attention to. Like most disease, it develops over time and that progression is measured by liver stiffness by the fibroscan. If they say a small amount there is no reason to not believe them unless you have other information. At early stages it is generally manageable but diet and eliminating alcohol are key. It is a call to get control of the problem but it is slow moving and manageable in early stages. They shouldn't have said nothing to worry about, but it is fair warning to be proactive.
