help for cirrhosis

I’ve had high liver enzymes for a few years. No real answers as to why. I’ve now seen a new hematologist and he has me set up for a fibroscan and MRI. But he said I have cirrhosis from old notes. The new doc has put me on steroids for a few weeks for inflammation and another med. for inflammation . I have read all of your comments for at least a year about o eating healthy, and I’ve lost 20 pounds. I’m afraid now that I’m too late because of the cirrhosis. I know that I will know more after tests , but I’m still worried. Doc said I may have to have jugular biopsy. Yikes!! I’ve had 2 regular ones a few years ago. I appreciate and help or advice. Thanks all..

I've been in stage 4 for 23 years, listen to your body, get lots of rest. I thought I had juggler vein problems as well, but it was ok. I've had lots of biopsies, ultrasounds and fiberscans, so I know they can be scarry at times. Keep stress out of your life as much as possible. They makes your bloodwork high. Mine was just the highest in 5 years because of stress. I'm trying to just stay come and what will be will be. Try to eat healthy which is so very very hard to do. Good luck

Thank you so much!! I am so worried and scared, but your encouragement helps me so much. It’s great to hear you have done well for 23 years!! Hope you are well for at least 23 more. I will try to do what you suggested, and keep losing weight!! Calm my stress too. Thanks again for replying!!

Just curious what type of MRI are you having? Is it a standard MRI or an elastography test?

I’m not sure. I think paper said contrast.

Thank you!! Fibroscan feb 9 . He doubled my Ursodiol to 4 capsules a day and added a steroid to fight inflammation in liver. MRI at end of February. Doesn’t know why my liver is inflamed…

I just had a fibrosure test. Still awaiting the results but i had it done because of all the strange and awful symptoms im having as of late. My "fatty liver" was just discovered about 6 months ago on an ultrasound. He told me it was nothing and I definitely didn't have anything beyond that. Told me I was ocd for even asking questions. Just excercise and diet. 😬

Yes. My fibrosure test resulted in F0, S0, and N0. No fibrosis. No steatosis, and no Nash. It's a huge weight off my mind. It would be really nice if I weren't in pain all the time, but I guess we can't have everything we want. Good luck with your test.

Hi, did you have your biopsy bx yet? If you did, how did it go? I just had a jugular bx. Mine was pretty easy - just felt 3 moderate pinches -also thankful for the conscious sedation lol . I would have it again.

My last (2nd bx) was a regular biopsy -through my abdomen/side, it hurt so BAD I was reluctant to get another one ever. My first bx was the regular way also & was just a big pinch - bigger than the jugular one. Lasted about a minute then was gone. No idea why the 2nd hurt so differently. All done by different practitioners.

If you haven't had yours I hope it goes well & doesn't hurt.

Thank you. I didn’t have a biopsy yet. Just had fibroscan and MRI.

Did you get your results? I hope they improved : )

My fibroscan I think was very inaccurate- it showed F0 which was odd bc this biopsy showed an F3-F4 as did my fibro blood work. 1st & 2nd bx's I advanced each time (2nd was F2-F3) so how can my Fibroscan be S0 & F0 with no fatty or fibrosis?

They don't know why I'm advancing & now have NASH let alone F3-F4.

I don't drink (never have), am a good weight & eat super healthy (not that I don't slip now & again but majority it's chicken/turkey/seafood with healthy oil, veggies & fruit. They don't know why I have it even. This doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever

My fibroscan and MRI SAID F4 fibrosis. Said I have inflammation in my liver. I’m taking steroids and Ursodiol too. See my doc in a week or so. For answers. It doesn’t sound too good to me. My liver stiffness was 30. I also have never drank, and the last few months I’ve watched my diet so carefully!! Lost some weight too!! Hopefully, it’s not too late to save what’s left. Good luck to you too!!
