Is anyone currently taking this? How expensive is it? I am currently trying to get insurance approval to start it, but I don't have the best insurance so I'm afraid it will still be too costly.

My gastroligist/hepotoligist (new doctor) hasn't even brought it up nor have I. We had a video chat, I haven't actually ever had a face to face with him only when I had an endoscopy. At that point we didn't talk liver. However, with my prior doctor I went yearly for an US with blood test this new doctor does it every 6 months. He said after this test we will have a one on one each time to discuss liver. My biopsy was about 3 years ago mild fibrosis, he said this is the best way to follow progression so he plans right now, every 5 years. I just recently had an ELF which indicated no change but again, he said this really isn't a sure way. I lost 60 pounds he wants me to lose another 3 percent by next visit. Unfortunately tho I started a new medication that seems to affect my appetite so I gained 5 pounds so now I need to lose more than 3 percent!!!! Keep us posted on your progress in getting it, good luck.

Hi Kids

Resmetirom is fairly expensive so your insurance company will likely have to preauthorize, but Madrigal has a robust patient support program.

To enroll in the Madrigal Patient Support program, patients can follow a straightforward process designed to assist them in accessing necessary medications, particularly for conditions like Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH).

### Steps to Enroll

1. **Visit the Madrigal Patient Support Website**: Start by going to the Madrigal Patient Support website, where you can find detailed information about the program and its offerings. The website provides resources for both patients and healthcare providers, ensuring that all necessary information is readily available [1][5].

2. **Contact Support**: Patients can call the Madrigal Patient Support team at 1-877-219-7770. This dedicated support line is available to answer questions and guide patients through the enrollment process. They can provide information on eligibility and the types of assistance available [3][9].

3. **Complete the Enrollment Form**: Patients will need to fill out an enrollment form, which can typically be found on the website or requested through the support line. This form may require personal information, insurance details, and a prescription from a healthcare provider [2][4].

4. **Submit the Form**: After completing the enrollment form, patients should submit it as directed, either online or via fax, depending on the instructions provided. The Madrigal Patient Support team will then process the application and reach out with further information regarding eligibility and available support [6][10].

5. **Follow Up**: Once enrolled, patients are encouraged to follow up with the support team to ensure that their application is being processed and to inquire about any additional resources that may be available to them [5][7].

By following these steps, patients can effectively enroll in the Madrigal Patient Support program and gain access to the assistance they need for their treatment journey.

I tried but my BC/BS prescription coverage denies this medication. It's on the "not covered" list. Hopefully they will in the future.

Go to the Madrigal patient site and see if they can help. Their president assured me that any patient who needed it would be able to get it somehow. They are working to have grants for patients whose insurance isn't working and they will go to bat for you with MCBS I believe

My insurance is CVS/Aetna and they did approve it. My copay was going to be $3,000, but with the madrigal co pay card thankfully I'm only going to have to pay $10. I'll anxious to get started on the medicine and see if it helps.
