can anybody recommend a fatty liver diet book. I have made all the obvious diet changes but would like a complete lifestyle change. There are so many on Amazon to chose from. I’m from the UK

Take a few out from the library and if you fi one that seems agreeable, return it to the library and buy it from Amazon or a local bookseller. This is important to do as you really need to get an idea of what is inside. Maybe you are not a good cook but the recipes are too complicated. Or maybe you find one that turns out to be filled with salmon and trout and tuna recipes....which stinks for you because you are allergic to seafood. (Made up example of course, but you get the point). Preview one or two at the library or at home for a week or two!

I've been reading Mastering Diabetes, Forks Over Knives, How Not to Die. I follow Dr. Greger's Daily Dozen whole food plant based plan. All 3 strongly suggest not eating animal products and to avoid gluten, dairy, cooking with oil and consuming processed oils. Their strategy is to get your Healthy fat from Plants nuts and seeds not refined oils. Even though I have nash3 the doctors tell me that my liver function is good although I am struggling with several health symptoms.

Thank you l will look on Amazon. I also have PBC so my poor liver is struggling. I no longer use oils for cooking apart from extra olive oil but don't fry anything anyway. I'm in my 70s and have always had the mindset to eat meat and veg so that's what l cooked for years Im not overweight fortunately. My cooking has got boring so need a few ideas other than salmon. Thanks

Using exactly the same strategy. Husband's type 2 diabetes went away and his prostate cancer, major operation - out of bed within hours, left hospital next day....14 years ago - hasn't come back. Used with heart disease - gone; and now with cirrhosis, recently diagnosed, doctor said to keep doing what i am doing and she'd see me again 8 months.

It's very restrictive - total vegan - no meat, fish, dairy, cheese; all vegetables, cooked and raw, fruits the same, popcorn with no salt, butter; water, tea, coffee; no junk food of any kind; whole wheat/whole grain breads. All the best to you.

I love this book, it explains so much! Also I do celery juice every morning for my son on an empty stomach and he eats 20 minutes later. Anthony William has a book on Celery Juice too. This helps to detox him and helps with his congested liver. Its a natural diuretic, but helps with inflammation, hypertension, so many things it's pretty amazing.

Above link is to guidelines in U.S. liver foundation site. It’s not a recipe book, but gives basics. Similar to Mediterranean Diet

thank you that was really informative. I have been eating that way for a few months now and hoping when l have my next scan in May my liver will have improved. I have never been overweight but realised l was eating quite a few bad things.
