Dilated Duct and Fatty Liver?

Is there a connection?

I had an infected gallbladder in 2019 and that night, my bile duct was 9mm. It’s supposed to be more like 4.5-5.

My dr is very “eh” about it cause it’s still 9mm. However, I had no fatty liver then, and now I do. She’s still “eh.”

Anyone know if there’s a connection or is this more likely a coincidence?

Hi Dasil

Not likely to be associated with fatty liver, but just to be safe ask to be evaluated for NASH, which is the scar forming stage of fatty liver. Docs often don't consider that. A FibroScan is the simplest test if one is available in your area.
