Any help

I was diagnosed with NASH years ago. I was never given any advice on what helps. I've gained so much weight, unsure if that has anything to do with NASH. I also have osteoarthritis and psoriatic arthritis. Some days I have alot of energy and other days, just so tired. I'm on meds for the arthritis. Heard a vegan diet would help with inflammation, but I do love my fish and chicken. Any advice would be appreciated. TIA 😊. Brenda

Educate yourself about fatty liver because I have found as long as you have the information you can then make informed decisions. The library has several books on the Mediterranean diet which is recommended for this disease. Losing weight and exercise is also needed. I do see a dietician because my diet was what caused my disease . I did have a love for candy, ice cream ,cakes ,and a lot of processed food. Hope this helped and there is a lot of information that is posted on this site that will help you get started.

Lose weight and exercise. You are lucky, fish is good for you!! Chicken is another good choice. Your best bet is to see a nutritionist. I follow a combination of the diet under this foundation and the diabetic diet. The changes are forever! You should see a Hepatologist for direction. It's a kind of learn as you go situation but gaining is the worst you can do and losing weight too fast. Find a doctor that you trust and like, he can answer most of your questions. Read everything you can from this foundation then you will know what questions to ask. My doctor has told me more than once that most patients don't ask questions like I do. He knows I have read up on this disease. Good luck.

I read your comment and had the same experiences as you. I found a blog post that is changing my life. I eat 1/2 cup of olive oil a day... any green veggies I can chop up and garlic, no salt, no sugar, no fat, no white flour or gluten, and meats are lean and (unflavored when bought) chicken breast, pork loin, wild caught shrimp or salmon(or salmon patties). Season with Garlic Gourmet no salt spices like garlic and herb. I also got all the Mrs. Dash spices. I eat steel cut oats for breakfast and only berries for fruit. Salad are fine too but search for dressing with olive oil. Hope this helps... throw in some exercise and the weight falls off.
