I have NASH due to fatty liver with F2 fibrosis. My gastro did not recommended any medicines but told to eat healthy .I am lean with a BMI of 20 ..I made huge changes in my eating habits like more green vegetables plus lots of coffee .I am afraid as my hepa told there is no cure and it will keep on progressing to cirrhosis /esld .Is there anything I can do to reverse the damage done ?I scheduled another appointment with a different hepatologist and she told that it is possible to cure or halt NASH progression with dietry vitamin E intake .I am confused regarding different opinions .I have F2 fibrosis with a score of 7.4 kpa and CAP OF 174 .I don't have fatty liver as of now .Can NASH progress without fatty liver ?Any advise regarding vit e .Is it good for liver or make my condition worse?

Hi Kuda
NASH can progress without fatty liver. Autoimmune hepatitis is one example. For someone who is lean your doc should rule out other possible issues, but that said F2 is often manageable with diet. You are on the right track it seems but you probably need more information about how your particular system works. Vitamin E is recommended as an antioxidant. We believe that careful attention to the balance of specific fats in the diet is important to cool the inflammatory process. Here is a link with more information, but you should remember that you are lucky as most people don't learn of their disease until late stage 3 or 4.

Wayne, do you by chance have a book telling your whole story and your whole diet and all the wealth of information that you know?
No book, we try to put the info on the website but thanks for asking
I do have a few short subjects on Kindle, not books but discussions of individual subjects. You can find them here if you are interested.
I had intended to add a link. This is a general discussion
Hi Kuda,
I had a score of 7.6 which I have been told by 3 specialist liver consultants (one who is a leading consultant in the UK) that it is totally reversible with weight loss (done in the right way) and clean healthy eating.
That said I was also told that for certain individuals it does not always reverse and can worsen. But you can only do what you can do to improve.
Hope helps.

My hepa told that removing the causative agent could improve or stop fibrosis .In my case it is NASH .I am lean so weight loss will be detrimental effect on my health .I have had MetS an year back without any symtomes .I didn't care a lot and thought it might be a lab error as I was feeling so healthy .In the month of dec 2016 I had consumed a lot of red meat and it all started after that ...I had an episode of black stool and lost my appetite for 3 /4 months with a vague pain in RUQ .I started to Google out symptomes and got afraid I might have cirrhosis of liver .I consulted many hepatologist and told every symptomes I was facing but they all did palpation on my abdomes to figure out any abnormalities and told nothing wrong is there .But symptomes increased after that I began to lose weight ,got insomnia ,fatigue and loss of appetite .I know something was wrong with me .I consulted many well experienced hepatologist but no one believed that I have any liver disease of any kind because of my young age and low BMI.I then decided to have a private fibroscan which came out to be 7.4 kpa .I have so much anxiety and afraid that I might get downhill and will face ascites ,HE and vomit blood and die young ..Sorry for the long post ,and thanks for reading my story
