Has anyone had experience with probiotics? I started taking this Lactobacillus Helveticus Rosell-52ND and Bifidobacterium longum Rosell-175 from innovixlabs. I read in a journal article that the Helveticus can help with fibrosis. Well, I have no idea how it's working on my liver, but it has done wonders for my mood. I really think it is helping. And with me, mood affects my eating, so this is a big deal. It is sold as a Mood Probiotic. I guess it works on regulating cytokines. It must be, because I know IL-6 is partly responsible for depression...

I have read that many probiotics never reach the gut and are therefore ineffectual and a waste of money. A good book to read about this is the The Diet Myth by Tim Spector. He suggests a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds to develop your micrbiome. I think he suggests up to 30 different ones each week! I read his book before I knew I had fatty liver and I’m glad I did as I think my CAP score on the fibroscan. would have been higher. I’ve also read that Coffee is also considered good to prevent fibrosis and stop it developing if you already have it. 2~3 cups a day is suggested.
