Hello, looking for some inspirational stories on reversal of nash and fibrosis. I have a hepatologist appointment next week and am extremely nervous. I mentioned in my previous post has blood test called fibrosure and it showed f0 fibrosis and then I had a swe elastography which said f3 . I can't stop thinking about this and researching its all I do.
Need some positive thoughts. - Living with Fatty...
Need some positive thoughts.
Well am no Dr. but F0 dosn't sound bad, and I had F3 in Fibrosis and F-2 in Cirrhosis and my dr took good actions and suggested my low carb diet and exericise and all positive if I keep it positive and rigid which I have, Its important and all of us hear are different and have different symtoms and dr.'s and fibroscans but don't take just one diagnisis from a dr. if sounds bad, research and check it out with another dr. take. care . will wait for your next post
Ty , so you went from f3 to f2?
yes in the last 2 yrs, with a fatty liver , and fibrosis, and some cirrhosis, with only low faat diet and exercise.
HI J5527, I know how this can really be overwhelming to where your thinking about this 24/7. 5 months ago after a biopsy was told I had moderate to severe steatosis (Nash) with no evidence of fibrosis. Well long story short after complete turn around in diet and exercise and 42 pounds of weight loss, my latest Fibrosure and LIVERFASt blood work shows no nash and no fatty liver. so did I reverse it according to the blood work it seems so. I am changed for life I will continue to eat right and exercise and hopefully lose another 10 pounds or so. I have read a lot of testimonies of people reversing Nash and fibrosis many of them are on this site. so please stay positive, put the work in and best of luck. Please try not to let this be the only thing you focus on negatively on a daily basis it will take its toll if you do.
Great work ! Yes I've completely changed my eating and have been working out 30 mins a day. I'm going to try to get my mind out of the gutter with this. What good is working on my physical health if my mental health doesn't match so yes gonna work on that too.
I had the same deal with a reverrsal!!! Not sure either but this diet am on is still better than the life I was doing before So am still on low carb diet aand exercise, drink 8 glassses of water , sleep better, long hours, go see my hepotoligist once a year in September and keep hoping that it doesn't turn around again. This can absolutely be reversed. Right now, I am doing intermittent fasting about 18 hours A-day. In my 6 hour eating window, I am eating leafy greens, nuts fish, a little whole grains, little cheese, other vegetables and fruits. I allow myself to cheat a little bit on the weekends. I have over 50 pounds of weight to lose. I will let this group know how I have done at my yearly check up with the hepatologist. I had a fibrascan done in January and they are going to follow up with an ultrasound in about 6 months. I am F2 Nash. You can do this. You don't have to do the intermittent fasting like I am, but you do have to change your diet.
My heart goes out to you J..I absolutely freaked out when I first heard my diagnosis, read everything. Now if I read anything it's studies and articles suggested through this great site and all the wonderful people, thanks to Wayne. In everything I read through studies it can be reversed at least a stage and there have been miracles. It may take some time, is not over night. I had a gastro assistant at first. He did not believe reversing was possible said he had never seen it but he was young and probably didn't keep up on studies. Switched to an M.D. affiliated with a liver institution who does believe, big difference to have someone that is encouraging. However, this doctor doesn't use the fiberscan he said too many things can distort the outcome. I had a fiber blood test F3, FIB4 said indeterminate he said just with those results he would suggest a biopsy but throwing a fiberscan of F4 he would have certainly done a biopsy why just decide to use the worst test and on top of F4 it said probable. I have decided to do the biopsy 4-25 but I want to know. I have also applied for the LIVERFASt and will get that periodically to keep track myself. He also said if cirrhosis is not old it too can reverse a stage or more depending on how much and how old. Good luck, and try not to worry it can worsen the situation, worry only about what you can change diet and lifestyle.
Ordinarily I'd tell my story of going from F4 to a high F2 but the folks above have done such a good job no need for the details. It does make you worry too much but you aren't helpless so take a breath and realize you caught it much earlier than many here.
Ty, ah yes the breathing part working on that. I have found much comfort in everyone's positivity and knowing I'm not alone in this.
