Please remember this is only good for 90 days this does not talk about long term prognosis, ChildPugh is often used for that.

Meld (90 day prognosis)

Remember please that no calculator is perfect, there have been people that get worse rapidly, but also people who are "as bad as can be" that recover. Live your life, don't live your number is what doctor's say!

MELD was designed for hospitalized patients in line for liver transplant. Any other use can just lead to confusion as it calculates a probability of death which is only useful for trying to allocates donor organs.
