4 LFTS in normal range and US good but fatty liver detected. Doctors say liver definitely not showing cirrhosis but I have these symptoms. Constipation since January, I have to use Lactolose, hair loss and eyes not as sharp as they were at times with floaters. My cholesterol has increased greatly in the last 6 months. GP not happy with me but sending me to Gastro. I’m so low and anxious, has anybody else been like this?

Cholesterol and fatty liver

Do you have thyroid issues and take thyroxine? Cholesterol will definitely go higher if you aren’t at your optimum dose. Coincidentally I suffered from blurred vision and floaters starting three years ago. Just focused this morning and the floaters are not in my sight.
Any chance you’re just getting older? It happens. I’ve had floaters in my eyes since I was a kid. Sometimes they’re gone, sometimes they flare up big time and it’s distracting. And as a nurse and honestly just as a human too, the older people get the more difficult and focused they are on bowel movements. They’re either going too much or not enough. And hair and eyes go with age. How’s your diet? Just asking because you mentioned cholesterol level. Do you have a liver disease diagnosis? It sounds like you are worrying a lot. I do that too. Hence the name. But sometimes it’s good to have someone out your worry into check.
Just been for second ultrasound on liver and told everything fine but I’m still here doubting. Does high cholesterol point to liver disease? I’m 65.
It really doesn't sound like liver disease to me. Liver disease you get diarrheas' from eating things the liver can't digest. Eye floaters aren't liver. I suggest you get your colon checked out. You should have that every 5 years, you might have palps.
What’s palps? Thanks for replying.
It is a small tumor like cyst in your colon, most the time non cancerous. It can obstruct bowel movements. I'm not a dr., but you problems do not sound liver related. You might have other gastro issues.
I don't have perfect advice, but you might look into Dr. Gundry's various pills. I've had a lot of success with the BioComplete (pre, pro and post-biotic to help digestion). Side benefit is that it has helped with not only gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) but also with what you spoke of . gundrymd.com/
Colonoscopy are done every 10 years starting at 45, unless you had polyps at the last one and then the recommendation changes depending on the type of polyp. 5 years is usual but sometimes it’s 3 years or 1 year or even 6 months. Check with your doctor on YOUR specific recommendations. There are so many reasons things could be slowing down and GI is a good place to start then check in with nutrition. They will help figure out cholesterol and bowel movements. In general a Mediterranean diet, very high in fiber, is going to be best. Also look up the recommendation for daily fiber, it’s more than you think! Add beans to your diet to replace excess meat. Every time you eat you should be having fiber and water water water. Reduce animal fats and replace with healthy plant based fats, think Avacado, nuts, olive oil. And finally move your body. There is no magic fix it you want better health you need to do these things. Reducing stress is also better for your health. Stress hormones cause visceral, weight gain. So practice mindfulness and move your body.
